Meet the official candidates for MVW 2013 – Miss Cyprus 2013: Kim Rongyu

Wicca Merlin September 18, 2012 Competitions, Interviews, Miss Virtual World 16 Comments

To get the candidates for Miss Virtual World 2013 known a bit better I asked all of them the same 7 questions. I thought to follow the challenge it is always great to know a bit about all the ladies before and see who you wanna give your love and support to ;)

So, meet Miss Cyprus 2013, Kim Rongyu…

WM: “Please introduce yourself and tell us about your personality and tell us why you entered MVW 2013.”
KR: “Hello everyone, I’m Kim Rongyu and very proud to be Miss Cyprus in this year’s Miss Virtual World pageant. I’ve been in SL about 2 years now and I started modeling last September training with the MVW Academy. I enjoy so many aspects of SL, arts, culture, shopping (goes without saying!!!) and most of all the people I meet on a day-to-day basis. I love my friends and family, they are the most important things on SL for me. I am a happy girl, I have bad days same as everyone, but I try to be open and honest with people. As a RL teacher, I love to help people where I can, so I teach modeling as well to help new models on their way as I had help when I started. I lived in East Africa for some time, so I support charities that work in that area, both in SL and RL as I know what a tangible difference they make from first-hand experience. I entered MVW not just because I wanted to win (of course I do!), but also as a learning experience. I am still quite new to the world of SL modelling and this was a chance I couldn’t pass up, so many amazing people to learn from.”

WM: “What do you think will be the best thing about taking part in this contest? What do you think will be the worst?”
KR: “That’s a hard one to answer as I think all of us have different perceptions. The best aspects will undoubtedly be meeting all the new contestants, making new lasting friendships, learning new things and the thrill of just being part of this pageant. The worst aspect, again not an easy one, but I think handling the stress that will undoubtedly build up is not easy. But, this is part of the contest and something I will learn to deal with.”

WM: “Some anonymous people say this competition is rigged. What are your thoughts on this?”
KR: “Contests are, by their very nature, always open to accusations of bias. The judges appointed to MVW are all experts in their field, professionals, so I don’t see why there should be accusations. Everyone has their favorites, but just because they don’t win means nothing, just means someone else did a better job! I’m quite happy I can be confident that the best contestant will win the title, so I don’t see any issues with bias.”

WM: “What qualities do you have that make you the perfect MISS VIRTUAL WORLD?”
KR: “I am not a perfect anything, I’ll say that right from the outset! But the qualities that Miss Virtual World should possess, I think I have some of them. I work hard at my craft, I am supportive of people, I am discreet and professional (I don’t gossip!!!) and I delight in helping others, be it with knowledge or just being an extra pair of hands when needed. I am happy to go that extra mile in my job and I would devote myself whole-heartedly to the role, that I can promise you!”

WM: “What type of personality should never be chosen to win MISS VIRTUAL WORLD?”
KR: “Someone who is in the pageant simply to win for the prestige and “glory”. This is not that type of contest. The person who lifts the crown should be ready to help people, not be selfish and just bask in the title.”

WM: “What do you hope to gain from your experience in MVW 2013?”
KR: “I see this pageant as the greatest chance I will ever have to not only meet the best models in SL, but to learn from them. I’m a big enough person to know I don’t know everything! The friendships made here will last a lifetime, of that I am sure and that’s as valuable as anything tangible.”

WM: “How would winning this title change you?”
KR: “Not in the least, that I know for a fact. Who I am today is who I would be should I be lucky enough to win the title. Just a lot busier!!!”
